About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our Building Automation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing automation systems for commercial and industrial buildings. You will be responsible for creating detailed design documents, preparing submittals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed design drawings and documentation for building automation systems using AutoCAD.
  • Prepare and review submittals for client approval, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Perform redlining of drawings and documents to reflect changes during project execution.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and clients to ensure design integrity and timely delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company guidelines.
  • Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes and updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in building automation or HVAC controls design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with other design tools.
  • Experience preparing submittals and performing redlining on technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of building automation systems, including HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or other building automation protocols.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming or DDC controllers.
  • Experience with project documentation and compliance standards.
