Field Technician - Building Automation (Tridium & Distech)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Technician to support building automation systems across data center environments. This role involves working remotely with frequent travel to client sites for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Tridium Niagara and Distech Controls platforms. You will play a critical role in ensuring system reliability and performance for mission-critical facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and commission building automation systems (Tridium Niagara & Distech) in data centers.
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on BAS hardware and software.
  • Integrate HVAC, lighting, and environmental controls into existing infrastructure.
  • Review and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
  • Conduct functional testing and verify system performance against design specifications.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to clients and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including redlines and updates to system configurations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or technical certification in HVAC, Electrical, or Automation (Associate degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in building automation or controls systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara Framework and Distech Controls.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control sequences.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
  • Familiarity with networking basics (IP addressing, BACnet, Modbus).
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% and work independently in remote settings.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in data center environments or other mission-critical facilities.
  • Knowledge of energy management strategies and optimization.
  • Basic programming skills for control logic and graphics.
