Service Sales Manager - Illinois
The Mechanical Service Sales Manager is responsible for driving the growth of service contracts, maintenance agreements, retrofit projects, and equipment upgrades across Illinois. This role focuses on cultivating long-term client relationships, identifying opportunities for mechanical system improvements, and leading sales strategies that support company revenue and profitability goals. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of mechanical/HVAC systems with proven sales leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow service revenue within assigned Illinois territory.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities for maintenance contracts, equipment replacements, and mechanical system upgrades.
- Conduct site assessments and work collaboratively with engineering teams to develop scope, estimates, and proposals.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to customers, building owners, property managers, and facility executives.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients across commercial, industrial, institutional, and municipal sectors.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding customer operational needs, system performance concerns, and budget constraints.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through clear communication and ongoing support throughout the sales cycle and project life.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor the service sales team, helping establish targets, performance expectations, and development plans.
- Collaborate with service managers, project managers, and technical staff to ensure accurate proposals and smooth project execution.
- Provide market intelligence to leadership, including trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of mechanical/HVAC service sales experience; experience in Illinois markets is a plus.
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC, mechanical, and building systems.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Illinois.
