My client is a New York City-based engineering and design practice known for delivering innovative solutions on some of the city's most exciting and complex projects. They specialize in renovation, restoration, and new construction, with a strong focus on technical excellence, collaboration, and shaping the built environment. What You'll Do

  • Perform and coordinate special inspections and materials testing on high-profile projects throughout NYC.

  • Take full ownership of assigned projects: plan, schedule, and manage inspections from start to finish.

  • Lead inspection activities for reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, bolting, and welding.

  • Ensure construction work and materials meet approved drawings, specifications, and all applicable codes.

  • Deliver clear, accurate daily inspection reports, photographs, and field documentation.

  • Collaborate closely with contractors, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues and keep projects on track.

  • Utilize AutoCAD and other technical tools to review drawings, create markups, and document findings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of field inspection experience in the NYC region.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for drawings, markups, and inspection documentation (preferred).

  • Strong initiative with the ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent technical judgment and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interaction.

  • Familiarity with NYC DOB and IBC Chapter 17 inspection requirements.

  • Current certifications including:

    • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I

    • ICC Reinforced Concrete (Rebar) Special Inspector

    • ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector

    • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector

    • ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector

    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
