About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our Building Automation team in Nashville. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining building automation systems (BAS) to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency across commercial and industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning:
- Install and configure building automation systems, including controllers, sensors, and network devices.
- Perform system start-up and commissioning to ensure proper functionality.
Programming & Integration:
- Develop and modify control sequences for HVAC, lighting, and other building systems.
- Integrate BAS with third-party systems using standard protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve system issues, including hardware and software faults.
- Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades as needed.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, wiring diagrams, and service reports.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in building automation or HVAC controls.
- Familiarity with BAS platforms such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, or Trane.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Niagara AX/N4, BACnet certification, or equivalent.
