Position Overview:
The firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with deep experience in wastewater treatment and industrial facility design. The successful candidate will lead complex structural projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-impact infrastructure solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead structural design and analysis for water/wastewater treatment plants and industrial facilities.
- Oversee the production of construction documents and ensure technical excellence.
- Manage and mentor engineering teams, including coordination with international offices.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to align project goals and timelines.
- Review and approve drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase engineering support.
- Prepare technical reports, design fee estimates, and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and internal quality protocols.
- Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (8-10 years preferred) in structural engineering with a focus on water/wastewater and industrial projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RISA 3D, STAADPro, SAP2000).
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and BIM 360 is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, and related codes.
