Principal Stormwater Engineer - SA
We are working closely with an exciting consultancies who due to recent project success are expanding and looking for a Principal Stormwater Engineer. The role will be responsible to lead and deliver innovative stormwater and drainage solutions across a diverse range of infrastructure and urban development projects. Based in Adelaide, you will play a pivotal role in shaping sustainable water management strategies that protect communities and enhance the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex stormwater management and drainage projects.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers and designers.
- Develop and review hydrological and hydraulic models using industry-standard software (e.g., DRAINS, TUFLOW, MUSIC).
- Collaborate with clients, councils, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and tender documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations and standards.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in stormwater practices and sustainability.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or eligibility.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in stormwater engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or principal role.
- Strong knowledge of South Australian stormwater regulations, WSUD principles, and flood risk management.
- Proficiency in modelling tools such as DRAINS, TUFLOW, XP-RAFTS, and MUSIC.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
