Project Engineering Manager - Substations & Renewables

Our client is a leading energy solutions provider specializes in end-to-end energy management and infrastructure development for commercial and industrial clients. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, the company delivers tailored strategies that optimize energy usage, reduce emissions, and enhance operational reliability. Our current portfolio includes renewable energy, power infrastructure, and data centers.

We currently are seeking candidates for an Engineering Project Manager opening - this is an exciting opportunity step into a management role and get to work on meaningful utility projects for both the power & clean energy space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of the renewable energy & power substation projects from initiation, design, development to execution/operations.
  • Provide design review critiques to third parties and provide QA/QC input.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE, NESC, NEC) and utility specifications.
  • Oversee contractor performance and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of substation projects, from initiation to commissioning.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE, NESC, NEC) and utility specifications.
  • Oversee contractor performance and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Previous project execution team - experience & comfortability working with developers, engineering firms, project finance, construction, and other various external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience at one point coming from a design engineering role a huge plus.
  • Strong knowledge of utility standards and grid interconnection requirements is a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • PMP certification is a plus. PE not required, but also a plus.

*Must be based in the US for consideration and bring previous 4 years of experience.
