Project Manager
We are a well-established geotechnical contractor delivering technically complex foundation and excavation support solutions across major infrastructure, commercial and residential projects throughout the South East. Our expertise includes piled foundations, retaining walls, temporary works and complex ground engineering in constrained environments.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of deep foundation and excavation support projects from tender through to completion.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, execution and commercial performance of multiple geotechnical projects. You will work closely with design teams, site management, clients and supply chain partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing deep foundation and excavation support projects from pre-construction to handover
- Planning and coordinating site activities, resources and subcontractors
- Overseeing health, safety and environmental compliance on site
- Managing project programmes, budgets and risk
- Maintaining strong client relationships and acting as the primary point of contact
- Leading and mentoring site and engineering teams
- Managing change, variations and commercial reporting in collaboration with commercial teams
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a Project Manager within geotechnical construction
- Proven track record delivering deep foundation and excavation support works (e.g. piling, retaining walls, temporary works, basements)
- Strong understanding of geotechnical construction methods and constraints
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Solid commercial awareness and experience managing project costs and programmes
- Ability to manage multiple projects across the South East
- Relevant engineering or construction qualification (degree or equivalent)
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
