A 100% Employee-Owned design firm is seeking skilled and experienced Bridge Engineers to join their team in Boise, Idaho. As a Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and inspecting bridges and other transportation structures. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and professionals to ensure the safe and efficient design and construction of bridges in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze bridge structures, including superstructures, substructures, and foundations, using appropriate engineering software and tools.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents for bridge projects.
- Conduct structural analysis and modeling to assess the performance and integrity of existing bridges and propose rehabilitation and repair measures as needed.
- Perform calculations and evaluate load capacity, stability, and structural adequacy of bridge components.
- Review and interpret geotechnical reports and conduct site investigations to assess soil conditions and determine foundation requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, drafters, and other engineering disciplines to integrate bridge designs into broader transportation projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards in all bridge designs and construction projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support during construction, including responding to contractor inquiries and conducting field inspections.
- Participate in bridge inspections and evaluations, documenting conditions and recommending appropriate maintenance or repair actions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree would be a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Idaho or the ability to obtain it within six months.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in bridge engineering or a similar field.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar programs.
- Strong knowledge of bridge design codes and standards, such as AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
- Solid understanding of structural analysis principles, load ratings, and construction methods related to bridges.
