RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the structural group under the direction of the Director of Engineering. Responsible for supervision/mentoring of engineers, quality review of projects, and general group management. Also expected to perform lead structural engineer project responsibilities as defined below.
- Performs lead structural engineering both on new construction and existing buildings with responsibilities on multiple projects, including establishing criteria and standards, and preparing calculations, reports, and project drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with client, architect, other disciplines, and contractor to provide appropriate, cost-effective, and coordinated solutions.
- Work to establish and build relationships with team members, both internal and external.
- Perform construction administration services, including RFI's and submittals, and site visits as required.
- Participate in business development efforts
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of experience in design of structural systems.
- B.S. in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Experience in light gage, wood, masonry, and steel connection design.
- S.E. license in Structural Engineering in Illinois preferred.
- Ability to get licensed in additional states preferred.
- Active in professional organizations a plus.
- Experience writing and editing specifications.
- Excellent organization, delegation, and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
