A top Southeast MEP Engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Electrical Engineer. As an MEP Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of electrical systems for a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with expertise in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems, and will be capable of leading and managing projects independently.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, including designing electrical systems, preparing technical specifications, reviewing plans and drawings, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information and evaluate existing electrical systems for renovation or upgrade projects.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to ensure coordinated and integrated MEP system designs.
- Prepare detailed electrical calculations, load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop analysis, and other technical calculations as needed.
- Review contractor submittals and provide technical expertise during construction phases to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct field inspections to verify compliance with electrical codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in electrical engineering, and changes in codes and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering for MEP systems, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT license is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, such as NEC, IBC, and NFPA.
- Proficient in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to independently manage and lead projects, including developing project schedules, coordinating with team members, and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
