This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced engineers with experience working in either the power utility and/or renewable energy field to step into a leadership role for an already existing and well-established renewable energy owner/operator committed to decarbonizing the grid.
*This position has hybrid flexibility. All candidates must be either currently based and/or willing to relocate to the Greater Chicago area. Relocation support is offered.
Overview...
- Join a collaborative team that's responsible for development and/or execution of exciting projects including renewable energy technologies (PV solar, power systems, battery energy storage).
- Provide SME level experience and guidance on questions related to utility power systems.
- Support interconnection of projects on a regional and national level.
- Prepare and develop standards, bill of materials, proper documentation, and site surveys.
- Lead and oversee work of junior engineers.
Ideal Background & Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years of employer experience working on engineering projects.
- Background in at least one of the specific areas: utility distribution, substation, transmission systems, physical design, distribution automation, protection & controls, operations, protective relay systems, distributed generation, standards, distribution engineering.
- Previous experience working directly for either an engineering design firm, EPC, IPP/developer, and/or related employer.
- Understanding of AutoCAD design software.
Minimum Requirements:
- Four-year degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of North American utility experience.
- Ability to be based and/or relocate to Greater Chicago, Illinois.
- Desire to work as part of a collaborative team vs. sole individual contributor.
