FULLY REMOTE: Substation P&C Engineer (Renewables)
We have partnered with an industry-leading engineering service provider that is seeking an experienced electrical engineer with a desire to expand into the renewables space. The engineer in this position will be tasked with completing protection and control projects that support their customers. This is a high-visibility role as you will collaborate with in-house client engineers and designers, and conduct training for lower-level engineers within the organization. Responsibilities:
- Work on green-field and brown-field (retrofit) Protection and Control Projects in substations
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team in the areas of protection and control and physical design
- Work with the following equipment: transformers, circuit breakers, buses, reactors, line disconnects, protective relays systems (SEL, ABB, etc.), and SCADA systems
- Function as a project lead for protection and control projects
- Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others within the workgroup, team, department, or those external to complete substation projects
- Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in substation protection and control and physical design (Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET) will count toward years of experience)
- Experience with protection and control systems, including relay setting calculations, relay coordination, and system studies
- A PE License is desirable but not required
