We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Department Manager to lead our geotechnical team in Austin, Texas.
Job Description: As the Geotechnical Department Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the geotechnical engineering department's operations, including project management, client relations, staff development, and technical excellence. This role requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas and a minimum of 5 years of consulting experience in geotechnical engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Provide leadership and strategic direction to the geotechnical engineering department, ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
Project Management: Oversee and manage geotechnical projects, from inception to completion, including site investigations, foundation design, slope stability analysis, and construction monitoring.
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for business development and ensuring client satisfaction.
Technical Excellence: Maintain a high level of technical expertise in geotechnical engineering and ensure that the department's work meets industry standards and best practices.
Staff Development: Manage and mentor geotechnical staff, including engineers, geologists, and technicians, fostering their professional growth and development.
Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage department budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Compliance: Ensure that all geotechnical projects and reports adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience in geotechnical engineering.
