Job Description: As a Highway Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, planning, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of highways and transportation infrastructure. You will work on diverse and challenging projects that impact the daily lives of countless individuals and businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Highway Design: Develop and manage highway design projects, including geometric design, pavement design, and traffic management.
Project Management: Plan and execute engineering projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and standards, including environmental and safety guidelines.
Traffic Analysis: Conduct traffic studies, analyze data, and recommend improvements to optimize traffic flow and safety.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control and assurance procedures to guarantee the highest standards in engineering design and construction.
Client Liaison: Collaborate with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide expert guidance.
Innovation: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in highway engineering to drive innovation and excellence in your projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer FL (PE) licensure preffered.
- Proven experience in highway and transportation engineering, with a track record of successful projects.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, HCS, Openroads SYNCHRO).
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
