A multi-disciplined firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Highway Section Head for their North Carolina offices (candidates in the Raleigh, Ashville and Charlotte - please apply). Responsibilities:
- Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
- Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
- Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
- Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
- Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
- Establish resources staffing needs for the section
- Interview and hire staff for the section
- Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
- Coordinate work-sharing within region and between regions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer License
- 10+ years' experience in specialized discipline.
- Project management and business development experience
- Successfully work and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Ability to manage, mentor, and provide guidance and direction to staff
- Thorough understanding of the NCDOT design standards, policies, specifications, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)process and plan preparation.
