This firms primary clients are the DDOT, VDOT and various local and county governments. Our projects include a wide variety of small to large infrastructure projects including sidewalks, trails, intersections, arterial roadways, urban roadways, interstates and interchanges; traffic signal design and timing; and traffic and transportation policy development and research. This position includes working on a diverse set of transportation design, operations, and/or policy projects throughout this expanding region.
Responsibilities
- Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation design and planning solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
- Developing traffic signal designs in MicroStation
- Traffic signal timing plan development
- Researching best practices for traffic and transportation policy
- Highway design, drainage design and traffic control development
- Preliminary and Final Design Plan development
- Performs quantity take-off in support of construction cost estimates

Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 0 to 4 years of professional transportation engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment
- EIT and/or Masters degree preferred
- MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience
- Traffic engineering/operations, Synchro/SimTraffic, InRoads, Civil 3D, and/or HydroCAD experience a plus
