One of the leading Solar Project Development and Financial services provider who is currently looking to bring on a Lead Engineer, for Software Development to help build out their internal business applications! They have successfully financed and or developed over $2 Billion of solar and renewables projects. They are currently looking to bring on a Lead Engineer, Software Development to help them develop Full Stack development of internal business applications to help them as they expand into other areas of renewable energy.
The ideal candidate should have the soft skills to support the discovery of and acceptance conversations with not only technical, but also non-technical stake holders and members of the team. This position will report to the CIO and will initially support their environmental commodities management division bu may be tasked with assisting other areas of the business.
Primary Responsibilities, Lead Engineer Software Development:
- Work alongside their PM/BA groom, work on new discovery and prioritize new requests from stakeholders
- Integrate approved solutions using Ruby on Rails and other supporting technologies and support the build out of risk management, trading and asset management frameworks
- Conduct and support QA activities that will help the delivered solutions, which will include writing unit and integration tests and support stake holders in UAT
- Act as the primary contact for technical insight related to risks and costs associated with potentially new projects that the ECM division is considering for their strategic road-maps
- Work hand in hand with CIO as well as the development team to create and maintain internal DevOps road-maps in support of development efficiency's and maintainability
Required Skills and Experience, Lead Engineer Software Development:
- BS in computer science or equivalent experience
- At least 10 years of professional software development experience
- Passionate about delivering tightly scoped, high-quality software quickly and efficiently
- Comfortable with working as an individual contributor to identify, prioritize and promptly address issues in supported software
- Ability to work with and lead a small team in a fast paced and agile environment
- Able to convey information to non-technical stake holders
- Always looking at ways to continuously improve
- Extensive professional experience developing web applications using Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and MySQL
- Experience with other technologies is a plus
- Experience in a trading organization or with Renewable Energy Credits and related incentive related commodities is a plus
- Experience with integrating third-party SOAP/REST API's is a plus
