Lead Project Engineer
As the primary engineering authority for projects of varying complexity, you will be responsible for efficiently executing tasks on small, medium, and large-scale projects in alignment with contractual specifications and quality benchmarks.
You will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders including customers, Tendering & Project Teams, Operating Units, Project Managers, Supply Chain Managers, Engineering Managers, Engineering Leads, and specialists in secondary and civil/steel design functions, along with external consultants and end customers. Your pivotal role will involve providing essential support to guide both Projects and Tenders.
Familiarity with Power Quality Solutions, including Power System Design and Power System Performance Evaluation, will be a valuable asset.
Your expertise should encompass:
- Understanding of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, and power transformers.
- Proficiency in HV grid power systems.
- Grasping interfaces with HV and MV overhead line and cable systems.
- Familiarity with HV & MV substation engineering, and prior experience in this domain is preferred.
- Sound comprehension of secondary design components related to substations, including CT VT sizing, cable sizing, protection and control schemes, LVAC/LVDC supplies, interlocking, and telecommunications, among others, which would be advantageous.
- Proficient grasp of civil and structural design aspects within substations, encompassing transformer bunds, cable troughs, ducts, support structures, and substation access roads.
- Development, review, and validation of Bill of Materials for tenders or projects in accordance with specifications.
- Expertise in electrical design calculations pertinent to substations.
- Grounding system design, drawings, and Bill of Materials.
- Lightning system design, drawings, and Bill of Materials.
- Verification of technical data sheets for primary equipment.
- Tailoring optimized and customized solutions for diverse substation tenders.
- Application of creativity to offer optimal solutions within tender parameters.
- Ongoing enhancement of standardized templates and databases for tender engineering.
- Assessment and validation of vendor offers. Conducting FAT / SAT of Substation Equipment and Systems as required.
- Technical risk and opportunity assessment.
- Estimation of engineering effort and project costing during tender stages.
- Generation of innovative ideas to streamline engineering efforts.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
- Familiarity with essential CAD design tools (preferably Autodesk Revit) and 3D competence.
- Proficiency in essential Engineering calculation tools.
You should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and have amassed 10-15 years of experience in Substation Engineering (GIS). Your role as a Lead Project Engineer will be integral to the successful execution of projects and the continuous advancement of our engineering endeavors.
