Forensic Mechanical Engineer Boston
My Client, an international, multidisciplinary global firm are looking for a Mechanical Forensic Engineer- licensed in New England (USA), to join their New England based office. The engineer will be expected to evaluate the cause of failure, extent of damage, and options for repair in variety of mechanical systems and construction-related circumstance, including building enveloped evaluations.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Survey's losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings
- Conducts investigations to determine and document the scope of damage.
- Investigates and assesses damages due to failures and determines the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
- Analyses and documents the failure analysis and causation of failures.
- Collaborates with other investigators to produce detailed reports outlining the cause and origin of losses and damages.
- Serves as an expert witness in court and/or in depositions.
- Documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for clients.
- Collaborates with Unifier's national team of forensic experts to leverage experiences and assist on projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in other mechanical engineering branches such as HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression systems, vehicles and hydraulics is highly desired.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with clients and employees at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational, analytic, and time management skills with attention to detail and a high quality of work in a dynamic environment.
- Must be able to work independently, efficiently manage your time, and meet deadlines on multiple concurrent projects.
- Effective oral and written communication skills. Public speaking is a must; effective report writing is critical.
- Must be able to quickly adapt to change to meet business needs.
- Ability to travel and support projects needs both in and out of the state
- Intermediate level pf computer skills are required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
- 6 years of mechanical engineering experience, required.
- Forensic experience or investigative experience, required (Applicable and appropriate, consideration will be given to reasonable accommodations)
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), required.
