- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineer and Michigan Professional Engineer License
- Minimum 5-10 of years practical private sector and public sector design experience
- Minimum 2 years of project management and team supervision experience
This company offers an immediate opening for a career-oriented talented and motivated Project Engineer/Project Manager to design and supervise a various of private and public sector projects in Michigan.
This position is after an ambitious self-directed, experienced engineer to design and supervise employees for completion of both private and municipal sector work.
This position requires excellent communication skills, ability to manage personnel, project schedules and project budgets whilst maintaining client satisfaction and client contact.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of civil engineering/site work design drawings and specifications for private sector land development projects for institutional, industrial, commercial and residential clients.
- Preparation of municipal sector infrastructure projects, including roadway reconstruction and storm, sanitary and water main replacement projects for public sector clients.
- Capabilities to lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams, as well as coordination with project architects, MEP consultants, geo-technical consultants, landscape architects and other technical staff for project development and project delivery.
- To be able to monitor construction activities while providing interim design support, as well as resolving design and construction related issues.
- Ability to manage design, budget and owner requirements while scheduling multiple projects, as well as maintaining accurate project records, documentation and communications.
- Proficiency with a wide range of computer software packages required for design and management, including MS Office Suite, AutoCAD Land Development Software and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience (manditory).
- Proficiency in AASHTO, FHWA and MDOT design methodologies and local municipal site planning and engineering codes, requirements and community standards.
- Willingness to participate in business development activities, including pursuing, scoping and bidding prospective projects. Ability to identify potential markets, potential project leads and company pursuits. Willingness to represent the firm in professional association functions and conferences.
- Passion to mentor staff and to foster strong working relationships with clients.
- Must have a positive attitude and enjoy solving problems. Must want varied experience.
