Our client who is a leading renewable company in Korea is seeking a skilled and experienced Onshore Technical Manager to join their Engineering and Construction (E&C) department. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the engineering team during the development of our onshore wind projects.
Summary:
The Technical Manager for Onshore Wind will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle. This individual will lead a team of engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure the successful execution of onshore wind projects. Expertise in onshore wind and high voltage is a mandatory requirement for this role, and experience in photovoltaic (PV) projects is considered a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering team in the development of onshore wind projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership during the planning, design, and construction phases, and address any technical challenges that may arise.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess project feasibility, identify risks, and propose effective solutions to enhance project performance.
- Review and evaluate technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and reports, to ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.
- Work closely with the E&C department to support the preparation of proposals, budgets, and project plans for new onshore wind ventures.
- Maintain regular communication with the APAC head office, providing project updates, and technical reports, and contributing to strategic discussions.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in onshore wind technology to enhance the company's competitiveness and project efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- Proven experience in managing engineering activities for onshore wind projects.
- Strong knowledge of onshore wind turbine technologies, components, and design principles.
- Experience in photovoltaic (PV) projects is considered a plus.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and guidelines.
- Effective communication skills in English (both written and verbal), as reporting to the APAC head office is required.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, team management experience, and the ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills to address technical challenges effectively.
