Job Title: Senior Analyst, Portfolio Finance
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Summary: One of the largest renewable energy owners in the US is leading the transition to a world powered by clean energy. They own and operate more than 8 gigawatts of renewable and conventional energy assets across the country. As they develop a nationwide pipeline of new renewable energy projects for the future, their 5.6 gigawatts of wind, solar, and energy storage assets offset the equivalent of more than 10.5 million metric tons of carbon emissions for their customers today.
Reporting to the Director, Portfolio Finance, the Portfolio Finance Sr. Analyst is responsible for managing portfolios of solar and/or wind assets. The primary objective is funding coordination, financial modeling, reporting to key stakeholders, and other duties related to Portfolio Finance.
The Portfolio Finance Senior Analyst will be responsible for:
- Update and maintain complex structured financial models with most recent project and corporate assumptions with respect to tax equity, debt, and cash equity fundings.
- Manage and update tax equity and cash equity tracking models on a regular basis to track projected returns, flip dates, and other financial outcomes.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to support tranching of projects into existing funds.
- Support data/document management improvements and development of new tools to manage the portfolios.
- Assist in reporting of fund performance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Create comprehensive, cash-based financial models that can be sensitized for various operating and financial assumptions.
- Clearly present returns and financial conclusions based upon scenario analysis.
- Run scenarios to ensure decision-making is informed by quantitative financial analysis.
The Portfolio Finance Senior Analyst should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in energy or infrastructure sections preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in portfolio management, financial analysis, project finance or M&A.
- Experience with reading and interpreting financing agreements and project contracts.
- Experience in project finance transactions (i.e. discounted cash-flow with multiple parties) and structuring and closing of tax equity highly preferred.
- Experience creating reusable Excel templates, instead of single use/purpose spreadsheets.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills including use of complex functions and proven ability to create well organized and intuitive presentations of information to formulate conclusions.
- Strong understanding of financial, tax, accounting, and investments concepts.
- Understanding of data tables and databases.
