As a Principal Automation Engineer you will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of state-of-the-art industrial control systems. Your role will involve collaborating with clients, understanding their unique needs, and crafting customised automation solutions that elevate efficiency, minimize downtime, and enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of industrial automation solutions, utilizing your expertise in PLC programming, RSLogix, Ignition, and Wonderware.
Act as the technical authority, guiding project teams and providing mentorship to junior engineers.
Work closely with clients to gain a deep understanding of their specific requirements and translate them into tailored automation systems.
Develop comprehensive specifications, control system architectures, and detailed hardware and software designs.
Integrate automation systems seamlessly with existing processes and equipment, ensuring seamless operation.
Tackle complex troubleshooting and resolve automation-related issues, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
Keep abreast of emerging industry technologies and trends, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable.
Proficiency in SCADA and HMI design using Ignition and Wonderware.
Experience in PLC hardware and software selection, configuration, and commissioning.
Understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP).
A solid track record of working with industrial automation systems and control processes.
