Requirements
- Understand project scope by conferring with project team members and Project Manager.
- Prepare survey documents and computations associated with limited guidance including:
- Boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, plats of subdivision, etc.
- Research project information.
- Communicate with client, regulatory agencies, and general public by serving as the liaison between the client and the project team.
- Review and evaluate survey field notes with supervisor.
- Utilize computer and related survey software packages.
- Disseminate project parameters and objectives to project team.
- Prepare survey drawings and descriptions utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and other related software packages as directed.
- Provide construction-related services including construction plan interpretation and preparation of cut sheets; compute point data to provide to field crew.
- Use and understand surveying terminology by reviewing applicable reference materials and location specific statutes and requirements and by communicating with other survey staff.
- Use and understand surveying procedures and regulations by following appropriate Atwell Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), as well as local and state guidelines.
- Ensure product quality and Atwell reputation by following the Atwell Product Quality Manual and established standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge including: Attending educational workshops (as approved by Team Leader), review professional and market segment publications establish personal networks, participate in applicable professional societies and trade associations and read current State and local statutes and requirements relating to surveying. Disseminate information to project team.
- Achieve performance objectives by meeting or exceeding designated chargeability and hours worked.
- Ensure performance and provide leadership to the project team by training, supervising, coaching and mentoring project team members, fostering teamwork, and assisting the Team Leader with project team performance reviews.
- Must maintain a current driver's license in good standing.
- Will be expected to provide competent and quick service to various members of the project team and to suggest ways of improving the quality of products.
- Assist the Team Leader and Project Manager in the organization and direction of the project team.
- Assist the Project Manager by providing input during the proposal and project planning phase in the establishment of project scope, budgets, staffing, and project schedule.
- Attends meetings with project teams when necessary.
- Contribute to team effort and accomplish team-driven results as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must illustrate initiative and resourcefulness.

Day to Day
- Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying or related field.
- Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS) required.
- Professional Licensed Surveyor in multiple states preferred.
- Minimum of Four (4) years of progressive experience under the supervision of a licensed surveyor. Eight (8) years of experience is preferred.
- Must be highly proficient in:
- Mathematics and Measurements.
- Plan Reading (ex: topographic surveys, boundary surveys, etc.)
- The principles of performing basic surveys (ex: leveling, traversing, etc.)
- Required safety procedures and practices.
- AutoCAD Land Development Desktop or Civil 3D
- Must have high level knowledge of the following:
- Care, cleaning, and use of a variety of surveying tools and equipment.
- Survey ethics and technical standards.
- Construction Procedures.
- Knowledgeable, experienced, and successful in business development tactics and procedures.
