Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and manage traffic engineering projects, including but not limited to road expansions, traffic signal optimization, intersection improvements, public transportation enhancements, and pedestrian/cycling infrastructure development.
Collaborate with city officials, transportation authorities, and engineering teams to identify traffic-related issues and propose innovative and effective solutions.
Develop project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure that projects are delivered within the allocated financial resources.
Lead and coordinate a team of traffic engineers, transportation planners, and support staff, providing guidance and ensuring that project tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
Conduct thorough traffic studies, data analysis, and simulations to inform project decisions and assess the impact of proposed improvements.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines.
Communicate project progress, updates, and outcomes to stakeholders, clients, and upper management in a clear and concise manner.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor project developments and address any issues that may arise during the execution phase.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering or related field, with at least 1 year in a project management capacity.
In-depth knowledge of traffic engineering principles, traffic signal operations, transportation planning, and relevant regulations and standards.
Proficiency in traffic analysis software such as Microstation, Civil 3D, Vissum, Vissim and other relevant tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proven track record of successfully managing traffic engineering projects from conception to completion.
Professional Engineering (PE) license in California is strongly preferred.
