Job Duties:
- For DOT and Local Public Agency (LPA) clients, design of roads
- creates and evaluates specifications, plans, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and contract documents for projects.
- assigning responsibilities within the Transportation Team
- Maintains project budgets and timetables
- roadway design using the DOT design manual and AASHTO principles
- use CADD software for road design
- May offer a subordinate group leadership, coaching, and/or mentorship.
- A small percentage of the time, up to 10%, may involve occasional overnight stays for client meetings and site visits.
Requirements:
- 10 years: Experience in the highway design field. Engineering experience with infrastructure design and construction engineering, which may include cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans, and project displays.
- Proficiency with CAD particularly Civil3D, Microstation, and experience with OpenRoads software.
- Familiarity with ODOT and OTIC design standards and policies.
- Must have the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
- Professional Engineer's license in Ohio or the ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months.
- PE license
