This massive IPP operates in diverse sectors such as infrastructure, water services, and renewable energy. They specialize in the advancement and management of renewable energy projects, encompassing wind farms, solar power plants, and other initiatives promoting clean energy.
The Safety Specialist will be responsible for:
- Develop, implement, and uphold fundamental Industrial Safety and Hygiene policies, procedures, and systems aligned with US OSHA and Canadian MOL standards.
- Coordinate and conduct training sessions for working at heights and confined space rescue for WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) operations.
- Facilitate Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training, specifically addressing high voltages in power generation, battery storage, and transmission.
- Conduct thorough investigations into work-related accidents occurring at operational and construction sites.
- Write policy, procedures, and develop forms to ensure regulatory compliance and intuitive use
- Create and update emergency action plans, oversee annual drills, and implement improvements as needed.
- Deliver safety training across various safety disciplines.
- Travel to operational and construction sites to provide hands-on instruction and support.
The Safety Specialist should have the following qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in safety-related roles.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational safety, or a related field.
- Willingness to travel ranging from 25% to 50%.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced industrial safety principles relevant to the construction and operation of power facilities.
- Basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment and adherence to testing protocol safety.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED, with a commitment to maintaining certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Standard.
- Valid driver's license.
- U.S. Passport with the ability to travel to Canada and other countries.
