LVI Associates is currently partnering up with a leading solar developer in Taiwan. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, cost estimation, construction management, and operational management of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage components of solar photovoltaic and other renewable energy power generation systems. This includes but is not limited to substation design, cable routing, and parallel engineering with the local power utility. The projects can range from 2MW to 200MW. This is a permanent position and occasional travel is required.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and design high-voltage and extra-high-voltage components of solar photovoltaic and other renewable energy power generation systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct cost estimation for electrical infrastructure, including substations, cable routing, and parallel engineering with the local power utility.
- Manage the construction process of electrical systems, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and timely completion of projects.
- Oversee the operational management of electrical systems, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as project managers, civil engineers, and environmental specialists, to ensure integration and compatibility of electrical designs with overall project objectives.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in renewable energy electrical engineering, incorporating innovative solutions and best practices into design processes.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications related to electrical designs, ensuring accuracy and clarity of information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their professional development and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the team.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to address any electrical engineering-related issues or concerns.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in the power generation or transmission and distribution industry, specifically working with power plants with a capacity of 20,000 kilowatts or higher.
- Possession of relevant technical certifications or qualifications in the electrical industry.
- P.E. license is an advantage.
- Familiarity with the technical requirements and business processes of the local power utility.
