As a Senior Environmental Planner, you will play a crucial role in managing and guiding our clients through the complex regulatory landscape of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and conducting environmental assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the preparation of CEQA and NEPA documents, such as Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs).
- Conduct environmental analyses to identify potential impacts and propose effective mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and design.
- Provide strategic advice to clients on environmental compliance and permitting requirements.
- Stay current with changes in environmental regulations to ensure project documentation reflects the latest standards.
- Engage with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public during the environmental review process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on CEQA and NEPA compliance.
- Strong understanding of California environmental regulations and familiarity with federal environmental regulations.
- Proven experience managing and leading the preparation of CEQA and NEPA documents for various projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex environmental concepts effectively.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
