A leading engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Engineer to deliver cutting-edge design solutions for clients. In this position, you will be joining the Power & Infrastructure Department and working on large-scale power generation projects.
Position Summary
As the Senior Power Engineer, you will be the technical lead responsible for the execution of power project designs up to 200MW. You will oversee all mechanical design activities and ensure high-quality designs are delivered within the scope of the project.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the mechanical subject matter expert for power generation projects between 25MW and 200MW, including combined cycle and simple cycle power combustion turbines.
- Manage and supervise assigned mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance, training, and support to junior team members.
- Perform calculations, modeling, and engineering tasks, as well as code research.
- Lead peer reviews and ensure technical oversight and quality control of design deliverables.
- Collaborate with the VP of Power to respond to client-issued RFPs, and contribute to the development of bid proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and budgets using established standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- At least 15 years of professional engineering experience, with a focus on IPP and utility-scale combustion turbine plants.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary projects using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software or equivalent tools.
- Practical experience working with GE, Siemens, and/or Solar combustion turbines.
- In-depth knowledge of specifying and integrating industrial frame combustion turbines, natural gas and diesel engines, heat recovery systems, packaged boilers, and other mechanical plant equipment.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and national code requirements.
- Experience collaborating with electrical, controls, structural, civil, and air permitting teams.
- Familiarity with the construction phase, including site visits, factory testing, and piping design coordination.
- Pipe stress analysis experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
