Essential Functions of the Position
- Design duties will involve the management and supervision of junior staff.
- Prepare project plans and schedules.
- Consulting with clients, other engineers, vendors etc., as necessary to determine the most practical and desirable engineering design in keeping with the budget.
- Work as a team member to develop project scopes and budgets.
- Build new client relationships and maintain current client relationships.
- Anticipating information needed and take the necessary action to obtain it.

- Organizing, scheduling, and supervising the work of others so as to make the most efficient use of personnel and the allotted budget.
- Effectively handle complex transportation design projects and efficiently utilize various company resources to accomplish the intended work.
- Coordinating, supervising, checking, and assuming responsibility for all work done under his/her direction, including Engineer Associates, Designers, Drafters, and Technicians working on a project for which the Project Engineer is the Engineer of Record.
- Coordinating work with that of other designers, architects, estimators, purchasing personnel, management, etc., involved in the project.
- Marketing the Companies' services to current and potential clients and participating in business development activities.
- Following company policies and procedures regarding safety and quality.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Georgia
- Twenty years of engineering experience.
- Project management experience with GDOT and/or local municipalities.
- Project Management experience with roadway design projects - including cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans. * Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills and be a self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual who possess the initiative and ability to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts.
- Proficiency with AASHTO and relevant state DOT design standards and policies.
