Responsibilities:
- Able to demonstrate an established career in structural analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings. Including uncommon ground-up new design structures, horizontal and vertical additions, adaptive reuse, complex and large tenant buildouts, and major structural modifications.
- Perform analysis and design on varying materials using applicable building codes. Structural systems include a variety of different materials (concrete, masonry, etc.)
- Prepare technical specifications and mentoring younger team members to help with the growth of the team.
- Coordination of design process with in-house staff, clients, and other design professionals.
- Prepare and coordinate structural drawings including plans, elevations, sections, details, and general notes under the supervision of a Senior Associate or Principal.
- Prepare formal calculation packages suitable for the reviewing building authority.
- Perform construction phase services including RFI response, submittal and shop drawing review, and periodic field observation.
- Develop proposals with applicable project scopes and fees.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in structural engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in the structural analysis and design and restoration of building structures.
- Working knowledge of current industry software, such as ETABS, SAFE, RAM, RISA3-D or Tedds.
- PE or SE license required.
- Strong technical communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient ability in AutoCAD or Revit.
- Experience with finite element modeling such as STRAND, ANSYS, ABACUS, MEPLA, RFEM.
Geographic Area of Responsibility:
- The geographic area of responsibility for this position includes the Chicagoland area.
WFH Policy:
- Hybrid: 2-3 Days in the office based on site visits/inspections.
