Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
Experience:
- 3+ Years of experience in the Technology Design discipline.
Software:
- Baseline experience and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, PDF markup, and general computer operation.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit documentation and management as it applies to Technology Design.
Certifications & Licenses:
- RCDD Certification is desired.
Must Have's:
- Proven ability to understand and recognize complex design problems.
- Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude.
- Knowledge of Electrical and related California Building Codes as applicable to Technology Design
- Knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual best practices
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities:
- Performing design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by the assignment.
- Designs complicated Technology systems for telephone / data / surveillance / access control / audio visual systems as applicable to specific sub-department(s).
- In addition, the Systems Engineer II performs applicable fill rate /equipment load/room sizing calculations.
- Working with supervision the Systems Engineer II is accountable for accuracy, timeliness and reliability, reporting to their Coach, Associate or Supervisor.
- Baseline knowledge of own discipline/department for Small Fee Projects or Low-Level complexity projects.
- Executes general directions as provided by others but begins to make some basic engineering decisions. Developing the ability to anticipate recognize issues related to own work.
- Performs coordination at a mid-range complexity level by reviewing drawings supplied by vendors, other team engineers, and the architects while implementing design modifications as necessary.
- Ability to gather appropriate resources in order to solve problems.
- Self-educates and pursues relevant training for others.
- Assists the supervisor by providing input on schedule and production tasks.
- Believes in and champions the firm's core values and inspires others to do the same.
- Ability to monitor patterns and trends to see a bigger picture.
- Understands overall project scope and the role of his/her discipline and the roles of other disciplines.
- Demonstrates a minimum level of communication both internally and externally.
