LVI is seeking an experience and innovative Project Delivery Leader that specializes in Water Resources Engineering (transportation drainage, hydraulics and water conveyance) to join and lead a team of designers, engineers and planners out of our Fairfax VA location. As a Project Delivery Leader on our Water Resources team you will provide expert level oversight of engineering services for various, complex design projects related to drainage, flood management, stormwater management, H&H, and erosion control designs among others.
Responsibilities:
- Work on a range of stormwater, green infrastructure, drainage, flood management, and H&H projects
- Perform project management, budgeting, monitoring and scheduling for various federal, state and local programs
- Train and mentor entry through Sr. level engineers
- Regularly interact with RK&K clients presenting solutions and providing project updates
- Prepare/review/approve technical reports and conduct alternative and feasibility studies
- Prepare/review/approve stormwater management best management practices (BMPs), Design erosion and sediment control - design more complex projects as needed
- Prepare environmental permit drawings, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Analyze floodplains, culverts, and channels utilizing HEC-RAS in compliance with FEMA and local regulations
- Conduct hydrology and hydraulics analysis and modeling for culverts, bridges and other floodplain studies
- Perform scour analysis
Essential Reuiqrements:
- Professional Engineering license in Virginia
- Project Management and experience in water resources
- 10+ years' of experience in stormwater, drainage design, hydraulic and hydrologic design / modeling (H&H) supporting VDOT and local municipal projects
- Experience in bridge hydraulics and scour (HEC 18 & Abscour), analyzing large-scale watershed hydrology (using VA/DC/MD methodology) and culvert evaluation
- Terrain and pipe system conveyance modeling experience (Inroads/OpenRoads, Civil 3D, EPA SWMM)
- One- and two-dimensional hydraulics experience using HEC-RAS or SMS/Tuflow
