Job Title: Senior Electrical Project Engineer (MEP)
Location: Alexandria, VA
A national A/E firm is looking are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer (MEP) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical design and engineering of large-scale projects, including construction and installation supervision, coordination with project stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee electrical engineering design and analysis activities for large-scale projects
- Prepare project proposals, schedules, budgets, and cost estimates for electrical engineering work
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and vendors
- Review and approve electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable codes and regulations
- Manage construction and installation activities to ensure quality and timely completion of electrical work
- Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans for electrical systems
- Participate in the development of best practices and procedures for electrical engineering and construction activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- At least 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering design and construction, with a focus on MEP projects
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of industry codes and regulations, including NEC, NFPA, IEC, and ASHRAE
- Familiarity with design and analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, and AutoCAD
- Experience with construction and installation supervision, testing and commissioning, and project management
