Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Asbestos Consultant to join a Fortune 100 fastest growing company in San Francisco. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing industrial hygiene projects, with a particular focus on asbestos consulting. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring the health and safety of our clients, employees, and the general public.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Industrial Hygiene Programs: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive industrial hygiene programs that comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Asbestos Consulting: Provide expert guidance and consultancy on asbestos-related matters, including identification, evaluation, removal, and management. Conduct thorough asbestos assessments and inspections.
- Project Management: Take ownership of industrial hygiene projects from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and scheduling. Ensure projects are executed within established timelines and meet client expectations.
- Risk Assessment: Perform comprehensive risk assessments and hazard evaluations to identify potential workplace hazards, such as chemical exposures, physical hazards, and biological agents. Develop strategies to mitigate and control risks effectively.
- Compliance Assurance: Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to industrial hygiene and asbestos. Ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines and standards.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs on industrial hygiene practices, asbestos awareness, and related topics. Provide guidance and support to clients and employees regarding safety procedures and best practices.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and documentation of industrial hygiene assessments, asbestos surveys, and related findings. Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of reports to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Client Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and resource for their industrial hygiene needs. Collaborate with clients to develop effective strategies for managing hazards and ensuring compliance.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior industrial hygiene professionals. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting professional growth and development within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the industrial hygiene program. Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in industrial hygiene practices and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is required.
- Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) certification is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial hygiene and asbestos consulting, including project management responsibilities.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and NIOSH guidelines.
- Strong understanding of asbestos-related regulations, best practices, and methodologies for identification, abatement, and management.
- Proven experience in leading industrial hygiene programs and managing complex projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.
- Proficient in using industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and software.
- Ability to travel to client sites as required.
