We are currently searching for a highly motivated, experienced Stormwater Group Leader/Senior Project Manager to join our Georgia Engineering Group. The ideal candidate will perform management and supervisory functions for the Stormwater Group as well as will manage and perform routine to complex engineering work related to stormwater management and flood mitigation requiring the application of standard and innovative techniques, procedures, and criteria for public sector clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the Stormwater Group in such a manner that our clients' needs are met profitably and timely with a quality product. This includes forecasting the workload of the group and assigning the work within the group to the appropriate staff members, supervise the project managers in the group to assist them in completing their projects on schedule and budget. Monitor project status and review with project managers when necessary.
- Development of proposals for stormwater opportunities, including overall leadership of the proposal effort, developing win themes, building teams, developing technical approaches, schedules, and budgets resulting in booking of new work.
- The position includes interaction and a commitment to client service for both internal and external clients, including client development planning, client representative duties, and achieving assigned bookings goals.
- Manage planning and design projects - oversee the successful completion of hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses and mitigation planning projects and prepare design plans, technical specifications, and opinion of probable construction costs of closed systems, open channels, culverts and bridges, detention facilities and water quality controls. Develop and manage scope, schedule, and budget to meet project goals and objectives.
- Serve as a stormwater technical lead responsible for completing and reviewing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses for FEMA floodplain studies, watershed master plans, regional flood mitigation projects, dam breach analyses, green infrastructure, and streambank stabilization and restoration projects either as the engineer-of-record or in close coordination with the engineer of record.
- Experience with a diverse range of hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and design software packages including: HEC-HMS, 1D, 2D and unsteady HEC-RAS, StormCAD, Infoworks, ArcGIS, SWMM, etc.
- Demonstrated capability in management of stormwater projects, serving as client's primary point of contact and responsible for developing scope, schedule, and budget and managing overall project performance and client relationships for stormwater projects.
- Ability to work independently as well as plan and supervise work of teams of professionals and technicians.
- Effective communication skills, demonstrated management and sales capabilities.
Qualifications
- 15+ years' experience with emphasis in project management, and personnel management, and technical design in stormwater projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to become registered within 6 months preferred
- CFM preferred
- Knowledge of FEMA's guidelines and standards for Flood Risk Analysis and Mapping preferred
