An exciting local specialist firm in Melbourne is looking to bring on a senior transport planner with extensive experience in the transit industry.
This role sits within their growing Victoria Transport Planning team based in Melbourne and will be responsible for the provision of transport planning advice and technical services to support projects; understanding clients current and future potential needs; promoting innovative and effective practices to deliver a high quality service to internal and external clients.
Provide transport planning advice and services to drive projects forward and deliver upon the expectations of the client
Work on a diverse range of projects including transport planning, master planning, traffic modelling, pedestrian modelling, corridor studies, Movement and Place analysis and transport infrastructure planning
Have experience in or interest in developing further modelling skills in packages relevant to the Sydney market such as SIDRA, AIMSUN, pedestrian modelling, CUBE and/or EMME.
Preparing and contributing to technical reports and other project outputs
Project managing smaller and medium sized commissions, with increasing responsibility as skills and experience develop
Undertake business development activities
Be client focused
Understand client's current and future potential needs, and documenting how they will be achieved in proposals and project plans
Promote innovative and cost-effective practices to deliver a high quality service to internal and external clients
Provide mentoring, guidance and technical advice to junior staff to up skill and assist in their professional development
Working in a team environment
Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or similar
Minimum of 8 years previous professional experience as a Transport or Traffic Planner/Engineer
Experience in contributing to and delivering transport planning projects such as master planning and precinct/corridor studies
Pedestrian modelling experience, AIMSUN or SIDRA and modelling experience in CUBE and/or EMME desirable
Experience in contributing to proposals and winning new work
Excellent report writing and other written and numerical presentation skills
Strong communication skills, both within project teams and when in a client environment
Confidence in relationship building with clients and colleagues
An ability to apply sound analytical and numeric skills to project work
Commercial awareness and the ability to maintain good client relationships
An ability to solve complex problems and identify new innovative solutions
