Position Overview: As a Traveling Heavy Civil Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering complex civil construction projects across the United States. This position requires extensive travel to project sites, ensuring successful project execution while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Experience Needed:
- Minimum of 7 years of project management experience in heavy civil construction, including managing projects in different U.S. states.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale civil projects from initiation to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and materials related to heavy civil construction.
- Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and environmental considerations in various U.S. regions.
- Strong understanding of project management software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project requirements.
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead project teams across diverse locations.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the capability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control and project documentation.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work in various U.S. states.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of heavy civil projects in multiple U.S. states.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to construction crews and project staff.
- Resolve any project-related issues and conflicts promptly.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and stakeholders.
