We have a current opportunity for a Water Electrical Group Leader on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Greenville, South Carolina. For further information about this position please apply.
Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting regional teams with related business development activities
- Developing conceptual designs for water and wastewater treatment electrical power distribution, standby power generation, motor starting and lighting systems
- Coordinating with process mechanical team for process control coordination
- Preparing design calculations, coordinating with other support discipline activities on projects, coordinating with regional Garver offices and regulating agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control
- Be included in client meetings, industry conferences, and serve as a subject matter expert for the Water Business Line
- Developing detailed designs for water and wastewater treatment power distribution, standby power generation, motor starting and lighting systems
- Managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products which adhere to Garver standardisation
- Developing one-line diagrams and power plans
In addition, the Electrical Group Leader will be responsible for:
- Recruiting top talent for the electrical team
- Developing scope, schedule, level of effort, and fees for projects
- Managing, mentoring and professional development for electrical team members
- Drive the detailed design through coordination with other design disciplines
- Planning, managing, and executing electrical staff and workload
- Developing detailed plans and specifications
- Coordinating and maintaining project schedules
- Planning and monitoring budgets
- Quality program compliance, including ensuring delivery of quality work products that adhere to Garver standardisation.
- Electrical standards and tools development, procurement, and training
Preferred Attributes:
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license or with the ability to be licensed
- 10+ years of technical related experience with 2+ years of experience in project/team leadership
- Knowledge of Water and Wastewater treatment plant systems
- Proven experience overseeing electrical and I&C designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 820
