Organization X is in search of a talented Director with a specialization in Water Resources, particularly surface water. The ideal candidate will spearhead and oversee activities to meet client expectations. Demonstrated experience in people skills, technical proficiency, and management capabilities are crucial for this role. In summary, this position entails active participation in business development, client marketing, and project development.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead diverse water resources projects, encompassing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood hazard identification/mitigation, FEMA studies, Area Drainage Master Studies and Plans (ADMS/P), sediment yield, river mechanics, transportation drainage, and stream stabilization design. Familiarity with the application of advanced modeling tools is required. The candidate will provide mentorship, review engineering calculations, prepare design reports and exhibits, supervise planning and development, and oversee the production of construction documents. Quality control reviews for various project elements will be conducted.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Client service skills or the ability to develop them.
- Marketing and business development with a proven track record of winning projects.
- Development of scopes, preparation of cost proposals, and negotiation of contracts.
- Creation and management of project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Experience in employee supervision, development, and mentoring.
- Application of technical knowledge throughout project duration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- 10+ years civil engineering experience.
- Professional certification where applicable.
- Ability to plan, organize, supervise, coordinate technical work, and satisfy clients.
- Effective communication skills, including speaking, listening, and writing.
