Location: Tysons, VA


Overview

We are seeking an AV Engineer 3 to join a team focused on designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security and audio-visual systems. This includes intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, AV systems, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command/control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers.


Responsibilities

  • Design, install, configure, integrate, program, and test complex videoconferencing and integrated AV technologies (control systems, displays, video walls, audio reinforcement systems, cameras, microphones, streaming technologies, etc.).
  • Design and configure AV systems using Crestron, AMX, and Extron control platforms.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide engineering support, including requirements gathering, project scoping, and system costing.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot network and telecommunications systems (IP and ISDN networks).
  • Interpret plans and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop AV control system programming and configuration for AMX, Crestron, and Extron.
  • Provide on-site user and administrative training for installed AV systems.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
  • BS in Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of progressive experience.
  • Experience with IT and/or telecommunications projects.
  • Certified Crestron and AMX Programmer preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards and AV hardware/software (Jupiter, Extron, Tandberg, Polycom, Lutron).
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform complex design/build practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Visio required, AutoCAD a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.
