Location: Boise, Idaho
Work Style: Hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days in-office)

A well-established MEP consulting firm is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join its team in a project management capacity. This role is ideal for a licensed PE with 6+ years of experience in mechanical systems design and project delivery across institutional and government sectors. While this position does not include direct staff supervision, it involves leading multidisciplinary project teams and overseeing technical execution with great opportunity for career growth.


Role Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Lead mechanical design efforts for HVAC and plumbing systems across healthcare, education (K-12 and higher ed), correctional, and government facilities.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget from concept through construction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and identifying future opportunities.
  • Conduct site visits and support construction administration phases.
  • Guide junior engineers and designers in technical execution and quality assurance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in MEP design, with a focus on institutional and government projects.
  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Strong project management and client communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Deep understanding of HVAC systems, building codes, and industry standards.

Preferred:

  • Experience with energy modeling tools (e.g., IES-VE).
  • LEED accreditation or familiarity with sustainable design practices.
