LVI is working with a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm that has over 20 offices across the US and overseas. This firm's services include civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and corrosion control as well as project and construction management. This firm works on a variety of large and small projects, from commercial, retail, institutional, government and industrial development.

This firm is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer with 10-15 years of experience for their Maryland office, based in the Howard County area. This engineer will be self-motivated where they are looking for a new challenge and rewarding opportunity with a dynamic and progressive firm.

This engineer will work closely with the business development team and other discipline leaders to develop technical proposals and take a proactive role in marketing and business development. The role will provide the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals with a collaborative multidisciplinary office.

The successful engineer will have experience in providing engineering services for a variety of land development projects, including site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility infrastructure, erosion control, and coordinating multifaceted projects. This client is seeking an engineer who is results-oriented and values standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.

This engineer will have the opportunity to step into a Principal/ Partner role to run their own team once they get to 6+ people under them.

Requirements:

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering is required
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a relevant degree is required.
  • 10 to 15 years of industry experience (in land development)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and a variety of Civil Engineering design software applications.
  • Can multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Has strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Has experience in business development, client management and marketing: maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software is preferred. Must understand database concepts.
  • Is a positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture and morale.
  • Experience in performing site grading, earthwork calculation, drainage, erosion and sediment control design, utility layout and sizing, technical report writing, cost estimating and development project specification.
  • Land development experience in the design of commercial, office, higher education, mixed-use, residential, healthcare, municipal and/or federal projects.
