Lead Mechanical Engineer - Tampa, FL
A growing MEP design firm in Tampa is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to establish and lead its new mechanical department. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of mechanical design across a wide range of projects and help shape the future of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and island-based projects.
- Collaborate closely with a team of electrical engineers and designers.
- Present confidently to clients and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Travel occasionally to client sites (up to 10 percent).
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to department growth.
Requirements:
- PE license required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP design.
- Experience with data centers and humid climate design preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Southeast U.S.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $130,000 to $170,000 depending on experience.
