About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee complex overhead distribution construction projects from planning through energization. This role is ideal for a seasoned utility construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at stakeholder coordination, and consistently delivers safe, high-quality work on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of overhead distribution construction projects, including new line builds, rebuilds, reconductoring, storm hardening, and system upgrades.
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Lead cross‑functional teams including engineering, construction crews, contractors, and field supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, utility standards, environmental requirements, and construction best practices.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve field issues, and maintain quality control.
- Provide project reporting including cost tracking, schedule updates, risk assessments, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate permitting, materials procurement, outages, and system cutovers.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, utility partners, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in construction methods, productivity, and project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of project management experience in overhead electrical distribution or utility construction.
- Strong understanding of distribution line design, construction standards, NESC, and utility operations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- PMP or similar certification preferred (not required).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work in the field as needed and travel to active construction sites.
