Stormwater Client Lead

Location: Miami, Orlando, Tampa (Hybrid)

Our client is seeking an experienced Stormwater Client Lead to join their team in Miami, Orlando or Tampa. This hybrid role offers flexibility and can be based out of any of their offices. It's an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead innovative stormwater and water resources projects that support sustainable infrastructure development across the region.

About the Role

As Stormwater Client Lead, you will be responsible for the technical direction and quality of stormwater projects. You will collaborate with leading water teams, mentor junior staff, and work closely with clients to develop innovative solutions that meet regulatory and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Expand presence in the local stormwater market through targeted business development strategies, including cultivating key client relationships and engaging in select professional society activities.
  • Collaborate with Stormwater Client Service Leads across the organization to support regional growth and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for continued innovation and expansion in stormwater services.
  • Lead the application of 1D and 2D hydraulic and hydrologic modeling systems in urban environments at both local and watershed scales to support planning and design of infrastructure such as pipelines, open channels, pump stations, channel stabilization measures, storage and treatment facilities, multi-benefit solutions, and other conveyance systems.
  • Manage detailed design projects, including preparation of contract documents (e.g., plan sets and specifications), hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, technical reports, and other deliverables required for planning, design, and construction of stormwater management facilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, and scientists to support project execution.
  • Some travel within Florida is anticipated, with occasional travel outside the state to support strategic initiatives at the national level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in stormwater and water resources projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain within six months
  • Proven expertise in leading the planning and design of urban stormwater management solutions addressing both water quantity and quality
  • Proficiency with industry-standard modeling and design tools, including ICPR (1D/2D), HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, ICM, FLO-2D, XPSWMM, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D
  • Experience in identifying, designing, and optimizing multi-benefit stormwater projects in urban environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to develop solutions and recommendations for complex technical challenges
  • Comfortable presenting to groups and communicating effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
