AV Programming / Commissioning Engineer 3

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Development

  • Design, develop, and deploy software for integrated Audio Visual control systems, including user interfaces and touch panel applications, utilizing established development and DevOps processes.
  • Architect hardware and software frameworks for large-scale, resilient AV systems.
  • Develop system configurations, standards, and technical documentation for complex integrated environments.
  • Create high-level technical solutions that align with stakeholder requirements, operational needs, and performance expectations.

Systems Integration & Commissioning

  • Commission and deploy Audio Visual systems, including:
    • Configuration and programming of AV equipment and control systems.
    • Audio system calibration and tuning, including microphones, speakers, and digital signal processors (DSPs).
    • Integration of video conferencing platforms and collaboration technologies.
    • Configuration and deployment of AV-over-IP technologies.
    • Setup and calibration of large-format displays and video wall systems.
    • Configuration and troubleshooting of network-connected AV devices and switches.
    • Control system testing, debugging, and issue resolution.

Software Engineering

  • Develop and integrate software applications using object-oriented programming methodologies.
  • Interface with third-party systems and devices using industry-standard communication protocols such as SSH, REST APIs, and serial communications.
  • Track software development activities and communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership teams.

Quality & Technical Leadership

  • Conduct peer reviews of system designs, software code, and user interface development.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering team members.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet established quality standards and project requirements.

Documentation & Training

  • Develop comprehensive post-installation documentation to support operations and maintenance.
  • Create end-user and administrator training materials.
  • Deliver onsite training for customers and system operators.

Project Execution

  • Manage priorities, organize workload, and execute tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, and project management functions.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or
  • Master's degree in a related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience.

Required Experience

  • Experience programming and deploying enterprise Audio Visual control systems for conference rooms, operations centers, and divisible spaces.
  • Experience calibrating and tuning professional audio systems, including microphones, loudspeakers, and DSP platforms.
  • Experience deploying and integrating:
    • Unified communications and video conferencing platforms.
    • AV-over-IP technologies.
    • Enterprise audiovisual collaboration solutions.
  • Experience integrating third-party devices and services using standard communication protocols.
  • Experience developing software applications utilizing C# and .NET technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex integrated technology environments.
  • Experience working independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, including interaction with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Certifications

  • Professional certifications related to:
    • AV Control Systems
    • Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
    • Professional Audio Systems
    • AV Design and Integration

Additional certifications involving display technologies, LED systems, or AV infrastructure are considered a plus.


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to project requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete background screening and drug testing.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
